Amapantsula were even more popular in the 90's.
They also played a huge role in influencing most of our kwaaito artists like Arthur Mafokate, Mandoza, M'du and even the popular group known as TKZee which consists of Tokolo Tshabalala, Kabelo Mabalane and Zwai Bala. Amapantsula were now taking over the fashion culture in Soweto and people outside Soweto saw Amapuntsula as thugs and sometimes you wouldn't be allowed in certain areas if you dressed like a Pantsula so the trend had to change and AmaBujwa were introduced.
These guys earned everything they had and they were the working class kind of Pantsula.
Still using the Damara look with a bit of a twist, they made the look look good, they were smart and most popular group of guys that lived in Soweto and because they worked it was easy for them to get girls, they also created they own style of dancing or jive "esiBujwa'' as they would call it in Soweto.
AmaBujwa trended around Soweto and shebeen owners loved it when AmaBujwa showed up in their shebeen cause they knew that people would be entertained by AmaBujwa and it's because these guys loved to dance and entertain crowds and people loved AmaBujwa.
